Home from the hospice where she had stayed with her dependent mother until her death, Mandy, with a spirit altered by the experience, must confront the fundamentalist expectations of her younger sister and charge, Cirelle. The questions of faith, in others as well as in a higher power, permeate the ensuing action. Mandy rejects with equal power the God in which she had previously placed utter faith, feeling abandoned by His apparent indifference to human suffering. This, for Cirelle, is the destruction of her world. The ensuing struggle involves all the elemental wrestlings with faith amid the horror of this world, and the growth that allows us to accommodate and even embrace that horror.

Following the performance, hear an interview with Bryan Tripp, MDiv, Mental Health Association of the Carolinas, Charlotte, NC
